 A little about the author
I am a 49 year old Mama, married to the love of my life on this earth and blessed with a house full... six beautiful children, grand-mama to a beautiful baby boy, "Meow-ma" to five naughty kitty-cats, & "Mama" to two happy labs. I love my roles as wife, mother and homemaker. My days are full of activity. But life would never be complete without my personal relationship with Jesus; I am above all and foremost, a servant to the Most High. For these and all my blessings, I am ever thankful.

Beyond my family, I enjoy reading and anything creative. My desire for creating began early in life, even before I learned to read; I had joy for books. I would flip through pages looking for the pictures. But the blank pages were my real motive. Wherever I could find a canvas, I would put my pencil to work.
I was blessed with the ability to sketch almost anything near exact; Studied Medical Illustration at Loyola University at Chicago. With a little background music, a good pencil and a few hours I produced this sketch entitled, A Boy & His Dog, [from the same entitled series].

I began sewing while pregnant with my first child. Before long, I was designing and selling infant and childrens clothing, diapers and novelties. In 1983, Turtle Soup was born. My first self designed project was The Original Button Beanie for my son, styled after the  Jughead's beanie, [a character  from the comic strip Archie].  It was a real hit. Plums for Children, a local childrens shop in nearby San Luis Obispo, California would purchase a dozen beanies at a time. I was hooked! I think the first time I saw a little boy wearing one of my beanies, I was incredibly surprised and filled with excitement.

What inspires me to continue to create, is the joy my designs bring to others. I don't know that I could ever quit.
