Woolie Snappers

A top seller, is the Woolie Snapper! These are my Woolies! Merino, Lambswool and even wool perceived as the itchy stuff... but untreated and lanolized... [I like to use Eucalan] they don't feel itchy to my pickiest Woolie wearer, who ought to be out of diapers but doesn't seem to be quite ready. She is 2.5 years old. So here is the current inventory equipped with poly resin snaps. Some are double layered, some vented though woolies don't generally need any extra venting.

[Upper right] A unique Woolie Snapper called, The Zipper Snapper has, you guessed it... a zippered pocket which lends itself to adding an extra wool barrier called a Woolie Liner, not pictured. This was a fun diaper cover to make!

The classic pull on Woolie Shortie [above lower right] is still a great addition to the diaper stash and a nice aid in potty training.

And it goes without saying, Longies are a big time asset to the crawling folks on a cold day. Woolie Legs and the newer addition is the collection of Is that a Mouse in Your Pocket? / Woolie Legs.

The State of my Union

Ronnie is my love. Things about this man still get to me. We do this old thing we have always done from the very first time we lay together... when we go to bed to sleep he kisses me lightly [location varies as we do not see as well as we used to and the kisses sometimes land on my nose, eye brow, eye, etc.] ...he rolls to his right half onto his stomach with the help of his body pillow to protect his shoulder & slides his right arm underneath, palm facing up. I turn my head to the far left, lay on my back and slide my right hand into his. I knew I loved him 4 months after we met. Is that how long it takes? He said once (laughing) way before there was me... "the one" ...there was a gal who told him she loved him on the very first date. Huh. I never understood it. Granted, he is a hottie even still. But on the first date? I still tell myself... he is mine own! I have to say I gotta love the guns on this Daddy [we have six children & one grandchild]... not to mention those booger green eyes and well, ...'nuf said. The union is still in a very goooood state. And I am lovin' this man.
I heard it said on Oprah once that if you think your man is the King, you ought to let him know.
So, Ronnie-baby, this one is for you, babe!

The Frog Judge

Exerpt from an original story written by Cortney Kelleher

he court was assembled. His majesty, the King stood boldly beside the Prince, niether glancing at the young girl who patted her lips with her hanky, nor at the green burpy frog who adjusted the wig upon his head as if to say, "this be my crown." For you see, he was the one the assembly awaited to seat himself upon the high place. He was the Judge deciding the fate of the young girl who had bestowed a kiss upon his very own clammy cheek only to find she had been "set up" and find the would-be-prince never-was. The Judge proclaimed the kiss was stolen back and given instead to the lovely lad beside his royal dad and all without his permission. Afterall, he pleaded, "It first belonged to me."
What to do? she wondered.
The frog Judge belched, "Never give what you wish to keep."
But the young girl cried, "It was trickery, I tell you. The kiss was meant for his majesty's son and it was you who deceived it from me."
To that he retorted, "I am no tricker, lass but rather the keeper of right and you did give it willingly so indeed I took it and now miss it."
She sobbed and took the hanky from her lips, pointing at the glossy Judge, "My account is clearly truer, sir. Your words told plainly of your crown and how you sat even above his kingness."
"Bwop," he urped. "I spoke true, young thing. I do indeed wear my crown and here I sit high as I may. I was transformed at the moment of the peck."
"Oh dear," she cried. "To what I must confess. I did not mean to place this kiss upon a common frog, who belches and makes flies for lunch."

30 Year Class Reunion / Niles East HS, Skokie

WOW. My 30 Year Class Reunion. Has it been that long? You know, I don't feel so old as I do removed from those days. It is as if I wasn't there. I don't remember school being that much fun. I had my friends, but it was always an awkward time for me. In senior year 1978-79, I bloomed... the body finally caught up, things came into perspective & that November in 1978, I promptly met a boy/man, barely 19 fresh out of boot camp and ready to be shipped out before Christmas. But as it sometimes goes and happened then, Navy Davey came home and broke my heart not just a couple of times. I left Illinois to my native California and never wanted to look back. Everything tied into the memories. I married... had our last child of six, two years ago. I decided not to go to the 10 year reunion, or the 20 year one either. And now here it is 30 years. I checked out Facebook awhile ago and decided to add my face and profile; Found quite a few alumni from my HS, but to be honest the "old" brain didn't quite remember the names and the faces. Time flies.

Turtle Soup Feedback

Well, handing out samples was supposed to be easy. Saying "no" to some moms and "yes" to others who have yet to keep me posted. I am wondering, did they receive the packages,or did they not like the diapers? And now I have it. I am waiting for feedback now... Angie, Heather, Tanya, Michelle and Robyn. I am excited to get the comments to Turtle Soup Kids.

Out of the mouth of babes...

This morning, our youngest boy went on a hunt for his pacifier and couldn't find it. He tried to enlist my help, but being that I have been hoping to rid him of his dreaded pacifier, I was not so easily persuaded. I suggested he back track to which he replied,...

"Me's not a power ranger, mom!"
